Year 1 - Blog 3

Term 4 in Year 1 may have been much shorter than we were all expecting, but we managed to fit a lot in!

Probably the most exciting thing for the children (and teachers!) was the visit from Professor Bubbleworks.  Professor Rob came in to deliver a workshop that we all got involved in – some of us even ended up with our hair standing on end!

The children used lots of these ideas for their science investigations, including:

‘How do you make the bounciest bubble?’

‘What’s the quickest way of melting ice?’

Finally, probably everyone’s favourite, ‘What fizzy drink makes the biggest explosion?’

We also were lucky enough to have a Skype call with a dinosaur museum in India! We were shown around the museum where they kept skeletons and models of some of the most famous dinosaurs.  We found out about the fastest and biggest dinosaurs, and also the one with the smallest brain!

From all of the team in year 1, we hope that you are all safe and well at home with your families.  We can’t wait to get back to school so we can carry on teaching you lots of exciting new things.  For now we say thank you to your grown ups and well done to every single one of you.
