Year 3 - Blog 3

Year 3 Europe and Asia Classes

For science week, there was a special, hair raising assembly that the children really enjoyed. They created vortexes, watched exploding canisters, and saw the power of a leaf blower when it was used with a roll of toilet paper. The children loved it!

We went on our school trip to Lincolnsfield and went into the 1940s house. The children learnt about some of the differences between life then and life now, and learnt how to use a mangle. The children also had fun using a stirrup pump in the ‘Dig for Victory’ garden and experienced an ‘air raid’in a shelter. They met a veteran, and heard about his experiences as a prisoner of war in Germany.

We had fun dressing up for World Book Day, and had a book exchange in the classroom. We then heard from our Reading Ambassadors in a special reading assembly. Europe class also dressed up on Mufti day as rockstars, as they won the first interclass battle and came top of the school.
