Year 4 - Blog 3

In the second half of the Spring term, year four learned more about the Anglo-Saxons and how the Viking invasion changed life in Britain. We particularly enjoyed making Viking longboats. We now know that Vikings did not wear helmets with horns in battle!

In literacy, we described our own setting for a story featuring dragons. Having read Cressida Cowell’s book How To Train Your Dragon, we wrote our own explanation texts on how to train our own made up dragons.

In science, year 4 came up with lots of fantastic ideas for science experiments. We carried out a selection of these in class. It was a fun and busy afternoon with lots of learning about how to carry out experiments.

We are very impressed with the work year 4 are completing on the website Purple Mash, and are looking forward to seeing all the other work that has been taking place at home when we all return to school.
