The children’s costumes for World Book Day this year were amazing. In key stage one we had some amazing costumes with two costumes being chosen particularly for the design and creativity that had gone into making the outfit. A beautiful owl from year 1 and a Minnie Mouse from year 2. In year’s 3 and 5 two children’s costumes were picked out as being particularly impressive. Co-incidentally, both were characters from Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, with fantastic Oliver and Artful Dodger costumes.

The children all brought cushions to school and were able to sit on these to enjoy reading their books in our celebration assembly. The children also enjoyed a book swap which enabled every child to take home a book which is new to them. This has inspired some classes to set up a permanent system in class to enjoy book swapping.
