The children’s costumes for World Book Day this year were truly extraordinary! We enjoyed a costume parade outside and one child from each class won a brand-new book. It was very hard to pick the winners!

We had assemblies in the morning where the children sat on their cushions and began by quietly reading their books. The adults discussed and recommended books that they were currently reading. In KS2 we listened to Year 5 children detail the books they have been given to read as part of the Oxfordshire Book awards.

Children across the school enjoyed taking part in various reading activities, such as: year group partnered reading, speedy reading recommendations, and 3 word book reviews.

The book swap was a big success and all the children were pleased to leave school at the end of the day with a book which was new to them.

Thank you for your support which helped to make the day such a success.
