Sparkle and Shine Show!

Year 4 really did 'sparkle and shine' during their performance this term. The children worked incredibly hard at learning all of the lyrics. A huge well done to all of the singers, glockenspiel players, soloists, boomwhacker players and dancers! It was a wonderful performance.

It was British Science Week during Term 4. The children enjoyed two science workshops and conducted their own pupil-led investigations. Questions they investigated ranged from "Which material lasts the longest when floating on water?" to "Do more sugary foods decompose quicker?"

Over the past two terms, the children have been discovering all about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. They have learnt about the differences in their way of life, laws and justice, Kings, mythology and the influence of Anglo-Saxons and Vikings on modern day. The children have even created their very on Viking Longboats!

Year 4 also enjoyed World Book Day this term. During the day, the children were lucky enough to get a reservation at the 'Book Tasting' restaurant. They were able to 'taste' a selection of books from a variety of genres and authors to encourage them to branch out from what they would usually read. The menu included: poetry and rhyming books, picture books, graphic novels and magazines, classic novels, books by famous authors (such as Michael Morpurgo, Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton) and non-fiction texts. Year 4 also visited Year 1 to enjoy some reading time together.
