In DT this term Year 5 were star bakers! They used their culinary skills to create delicious pizzas. The children began by researching the history of pizza and then decided which flavours they thought would work well together for their own creation. They learnt about food hygiene during the cooking process too.
Our history topic this term has been the Romans. Year 5 channelled their inner Roman soldier during their final lesson this term. They created and designed their own shields and then practised different defensive formations. They then faced an onslaught from enemy archers (teachers armed with pool noodles) to test out the effectiveness of their defences.
Both classes have also worked on a piece of operatic music which they composed themselves. The classes each picked a colour and then chose a variety of instruments to use to compose a section. The final pieces sounded great!
